Description
Steady pulling power for demanding ground work
The PCW5000 pairs a Honda GXH50 four-stroke engine with a robust capstan drive for timber extraction and load recovery. Choose it when steady pulling performance matters more than minimum carrying weight.
Features and benefits
- Consistent pull over long distances. Rope passes through the capstan rather than building up on a storage drum, avoiding the changing drum diameter of a spool winch.
- Choose force or speed. The standard 57 mm drum prioritises pull. An optional 85 mm drum increases speed to 18 m/min and reduces direct pull to 700 kg; sold separately.
- Straightforward direct drive. The drum rotates while the engine runs. Control comes from rope tension; this model has no rope retention system.
For timber extraction
The included skidding cone covers the leading end of the log to help it pass obstacles and reduce snagging during extraction. Plan the pull and rigging to suit the terrain and load.
Rope and use
The manufacturer specifies low-stretch, double-braided polyester rope, 10–13 mm in diameter. Contact the manufacturer before using another rope.
For pulling only; do not use for lifting. Follow the operating instructions for safe setup and load control.
